Hog hunts
Types of Hunts
-
Thermal Hunts
Unlike optical scopes, thermal sights don't rely on visible light, allowing them to function in complete darkness. The sight's ability to see unaided even in complete darkness allows the hunter to be undetected and aware of potential prey, facilitating a quick and precise take down.
-
Hunting with Dogs
Once the open trailing dogs or silent dogs have a pig at bay, the catch dog is released to move in and hold the hog — usually by the ear — until the hunters can arrive and dispatch the animal.
-
Walk n stalk
Spot and stalk hunting is easily the most rigorous and demanding form of hunting. A hunter can locate his prey at a distance before stalking into effective killing distance without alarming the animal.
-
stand / blind
Tree stands or blinds are open or enclosed platforms used by hunters. The platforms are secured to trees in order to elevate the hunter and give them a better vantage point. The blinds are usually on the ground surrounded by brush.
Considered a nuisance and destructive force in many parts of the state, wild boars have become a sought-after game in the hunting industry. Especially prevalent in surrounding sugar cane fields and orange groves, wild boar hunting in Florida offers not only a thrilling adventure but also a practical solution to ecological balance. These intelligent and adaptable creatures can wreak havoc on crops and natural habitats, making their controlled hunting a necessary measure to mitigate the damage they cause. Hunting wild boars not only provides an exciting challenge for hunters but also helps in managing their population, ultimately benefiting the local ecosystems.
